  • The Board of Directors give out four (4) scholarships of $250.00 (or the amount of a class not to exceed $250.00). These are available to the Maine Florists’ Association and Maine State Florists’ & Growers’ Association members in good standing. The scholarships are available to member owners and/or employees of member shops/businesses. The scholarship form must be filled out and a written paragraph regarding the desire to pursue horticulture and/or floriculture education and why they wish the scholarship. We also require a short letter of reference from the employer with the employer’s signature, in the case of an employee.

  • The scholarships are for use for any course, class or seminar sponsored by Maine Florists’ Association, any AIFD sponsored program including symposium and/or testing at symposium, any continuing education college, vocational/technical school, floral design school, or educational schooling such as Teleflora’s Continuing Education, Rittner’s School of Floral Design, New England School of Floral Design etc. If this scholarship is used for a program other than Maine State Florists’ Association, it will only be paid out upon the association receiving the receipt from the said class, workshop or registration. Graded courses will need to be reported to the Scholarship Chairman for payment after passing of the first semester (college/tech school) for payment toward the second semester to the school.

  • We encourage everyone wanting to expand their education to apply for these scholarships.

  • Application deadline is December 30 of the current year for the next year’s scholarships. The winners are announced in January.
